Super Eagles 30 Man List: Junior Lokosa, Simy Nwankwo In, Henry Onyekuru Out

NPFL hotshot Junior Lokosa and Crotone of Italy striker Simy Nwankwo were the surprise names as Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr released his provisional 30 man list for the World Cup.

The 2 inform strikers were the notable surprises in the list alongside goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye

There was however no room for Everton of England forward Henry Onyekuru who only recently returned from a serious Injury,

Also missing was Alh Ahyl of Egypt striker Junior Ajayi who was with the team for their last international friendly with Serbia 🇷🇸

Football fans had been been clamoring for the inclusion of Junior Lokosa who has scored 18 goals in the Nigerian premier league and Simy Nwankwo who has scored 6 goals in his last 7 games for crotone

Both strikers were seen as options for additional firepower as the Eagles seemed to struggle to convert chances.

Super Eagles Captain Mikel John Obi, goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, defenders Abdullahi Shehu, Elderson Echiejile and Leon Balogun, as well as midfielders Ogenyi Onazi and Oghenekaro Etebo and forwards Ahmed Musa and Victor Moses in Nigeria’s 30-man provisional list for the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup finals.

The invited players will report at the Le Meridien Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo on Monday, 21st May..
