Tekno: God will make corrupt politicians suffer in ways money can’t fix

Augustine Kelechi, a singer better known as Tekno, has warned politicians looting Nigeria’s treasury, saying they could suffer for it in ways money won’t be able to fix.

The 27-year-old hip-hop star took to his Twitter page on Monday to pour out his mind.

He also made a case for citizens not reaping the benefits of leadership owing to mismanagement of funds by public office holders in the country.

“If u a leader in this country stealing from your people and just can’t give back small to the people. God will make u suffer in ways money can’t fix,” the singer wrote.

Tekno first signed under K-Money Entertainment where he released his first single titled ‘Holiday’, which was positively accepted and gained massive airplay.

In 2018, he signed a distribution deal with Universal Music Group Nigeria (UMGN), a division of Universal Music Group (UMG) in charge of West Africa, as well as the UK-based Island Records.

But in 2019, he was interrogated by the Lagos police authorities after his controversial video shoot which involved semi-nude ladies dancing in a transparent truck amid evening traffic.

Although he apologised for the stunt, the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) had vowed to make a scapegoat of him as a deterrent to persons who intend to perpetrate “immorality.”
