The 41-year-old, born Clifford Joseph Harris, was mocked on Saturday when he took to stage at the April Fools comedy show in Brooklyn, New York.

In a chat with TMZ, the actor and music executive reflected on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

T.I. said the boos directed at him were more “personal” but noted such would not stop him from pursuing his interest in comedy.

“I enjoyed every bit of it (the boos). Those boos were personal, they were not professional but I take them as motivation moving forward,” he said.

The rapper had earlier shared a clip of the incident — which he described as one of his “favourite moments” as a comedian — on his Instagram page.

In a post accompanying the video, he thanked Rip Micheals, the show’s host, for giving him the opportunity.

“Embracing every part of the process. Enjoying every step of the journey. We don’t fold we fight! Fall or fly till the bitter end. New York I love you and thank you for one of my favorite moments in my comedic career. Adversity is just what I do,” he had written.

“Sh*t get easy and I get bored so… this ought to keep my mind at work and motivated. @ripmicheals thanks for inviting me out and allowing me the opportunity to share the stage with some real greats. In closing…If you live for the cheers…. You’ll die by the boos.”
