They waited with knives, he never saw it coming: Shocking Lewisham murder

In a chilling act of violence rooted in a bitter family feud, two teenagers have been found guilty of savagely hunting down and stabbing 21-year-old Robert Robinson to death in the streets of Lewisham.

The killers—Ryan Wedderburn, 18, and Kirk Harris, 19—were convicted at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, May 13, of executing a cold-blooded murder that unfolded like a horror scene on Carteret Way, SE8, last June.

Robert, unarmed and outnumbered, was chased through a residential neighbourhood before being brutally stabbed 12 times in front of terrified residents.

The attack followed a tense confrontation between former family friends.

Earlier that day, a stolen bike sparked the final eruption of a long-brewing conflict. Armed with knives and vengeance, Wedderburn and Harris stormed the area and pounced on Robert as he tried to flee for his life.

Detectives recovered damning CCTV footage showing the teens arming themselves, coordinating their ambush, and fleeing in a pre-booked getaway taxi.

They later tried to justify the slaughter in court, but the jury saw through the lies.

They now await sentencing. Two more suspects linked to the case are set to face trial in 2026.
