Three men docked over forcible land takeover

A Lagos Magistrate Court sitting at Tinubu, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria has adjourned till 2nd of September,2020 for the trial of three men arraigned before the court for forcible land takeover.

In a five-count charge filed before the court by Police Prosecutor, Superintendent Idowu Osungbure, it was alleged that the three men, Adekoya Rafiu, 30; Adekoya Murufu, 33 and Wale Aina, 45,and one others now at large between February and July 2020 at Imokun in Epe conspired among themselves and forcibly entered property which is in peaceable possession of Shiraya family with intent to cause breach of peace.

Osungbure alleged further that the three men same date, place did willfully and unlawfully damage Sign Post, fence and other building materials valued N1.5 million property of Ogundeko Oluwatoyin of Shiraya family Epe.

The offences alleged to have been committed by the three defendants were contrary to and punishable under Sections 411, 52, of the criminal laws of Lagos State 2015 and sections 2(3) and 3(4)(a) of the properties Protection laws of Lagos State 2016.

The three defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
