Timi Dakolo and Apostle Lazarus Settle Dispute Over Gospel Music Fees

Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo and Apostle Lazarus have reached an amicable resolution following their recent online exchange over gospel artists charging for ministrations.

The disagreement started when Apostle Lazarus projected an alleged invoice from a gospel singer requesting a $10,000 honorarium with a 50% non-refundable deposit. Dakolo dismissed the claim, questioning its authenticity and urging the cleric to name the artist to validate his argument.

Taking things further, Dakolo highlighted that Apostle Lazarus’ own ministry charges fees—specifically, $150 per student for his school of ministry. He questioned whether the preacher was also profiting from a gift freely given and challenged him to apply the same standards to himself.

A Peaceful Resolution

In a new Instagram post, Apostle Lazarus shared a photo with Dakolo and Apostle Iren, confirming that both sides had reconciled. He acknowledged Dakolo’s advocacy for better structures in the gospel music industry, stating:

“My brother @timidakolo is a music legend. Give him his flowers. What a man! He genuinely carries the burdens of musicians. His concerns are real. I love you.”

He further promised that both hosts and guests in gospel events would work towards better conditions moving forward.

This marks the first time Apostle Lazarus has responded directly to Dakolo on this topic, signaling a shift towards mutual understanding in the ongoing debate over gospel ministry finances.
