Turkish football analyst Abdulkerim Durmaz has shared his thoughts on how Galatasaray can overcome Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce in their crucial Super Lig clash.
With six points separating both sides, Galatasaray have the chance to extend their lead to nine points with a win at Rams Park. Meanwhile, a victory for Fenerbahce would cut the gap to just three points, making the title race even tighter.
Durmaz’s Tactical Advice
Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated fixture, Durmaz suggested that Galatasaray should focus on utilizing Victor Osimhen’s aerial dominance to break down Mourinho’s side.
“Osimhen constantly receives the ball in the air in Galatasaray,” Durmaz told GsGazette. “Fenerbahce-Anderlecht matches are not a measure because there is no man like Osimhen in Anderlecht.
“If you give him the opportunity, Osimhen will win the aerial duels. If Galatasaray plays with numbers in the penalty area, they will create many chances. Barış and Sara often attempt blind shots, and Osimhen supports those attacks.
“I don’t think Galatasaray can play a transition game effectively. Fenerbahce will surprise Galatasaray, and they should start with Muslera while applying full-court pressure.”
Mourinho’s side comes into the game in better form, making this a defining moment in the Super Lig title race. The result could either put Galatasaray firmly in control or give Fenerbahce a huge boost in their championship bid.
