Vanessa Bryant settles with helicopter company over Kobe’s death

Vanessa Bryant reached a settlement agreement this Tuesday with the helicopter company she had taken action against after the accident that killed her husband Kobe and 13-year-old daughter Gigi.

Last February, investigators reported that the pilot Ara Zobayan was disoriented due to fog and maintained that he didn’t follow guidelines while flying through the clouds.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Vanessa and other relatives of the deceased have now found an agreement to close the lawsuit.

The National Transportation Safety Board – NTSB – were in charge of the investigations after the January 26 accidents in Calabasas. The NTSB believed the pilot to have gone against instructions.

The NTSB did also report that the pilot said that he was gaining altitude as he attempted to get above the clouds when, in fact, he was descending.

Another battle the with Sheriff’s Office

Bryant‘s lawsuit against the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office remains open after photographs taken by agents on their personal phones were shared and later published.
