Nigerian activist and social critic, VeryDarkMan, has stirred controversy online with the announcement of a diss track aimed at popular gospel singer Mercy Chinwo. The move comes shortly after Mercy Chinwo reportedly filed a lawsuit against him.
A Track to ‘Mock’ Mercy Chinwo
In a viral post circulating on X (formerly Twitter), a video shows VeryDarkMan dancing to an unreleased song titled ‘Body of Christ’, a track he claims is meant to mock the gospel singer.
While teasing the song, the outspoken critic asked his followers for suggestions on an artist with “deep spiritual depth” to feature on the track. He then revealed his top choice: Portable, citing the singer’s supposed “spiritual inclination.”
VDM Calls Out Portable for Collaboration
In the video, VeryDarkMan made bold claims:
“My single is out — ‘Body of Christ.’ I’m thinking of featuring someone holier. In my opinion, this person is even holier than Mercy Chinwo.”
“Portable, I’ll be in your DM. I want you on this song because you’re spiritually inclined. Forget our differences — I believe you have more spirituality in Christ than Mercy Chinwo.”
