Veteran Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has revealed why she remains single and without children at the age of 52.
In an interview with Pulse Nigeria, Akintola explained that her single status is not by choice but rather due to life’s unforeseen circumstances.
The Edo and Oyo State native described marriage as a sacred union that should take place in the house of God, surrounded by loved ones.
She confessed that she once met a man she believed was the right partner for life, but tragically, he passed away.
Since then, she has not found anyone else who meets her standards for honesty and lifelong commitment.
Akintola emphasized that she values truthfulness and would not marry unless she is confident of being with the person forever.
She also said she remains open to marriage at any age, even as late as 78, if she finds the right companion.
Marriage is important. It doesn’t define a woman, nor is it the be-all and end-all of life. But it becomes more significant as you grow older, especially when children grow up and move on. Loneliness can set in, so companionship is needed in later years, she said.
