Barcelona concluded their Group C campaign with a 4-0 home victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach shaped by a first European hat-trick for Arda Turan. Turkey international showed an amazing performance and deserved 9.7 SofaScore rating. Although just a bit shy from the best possible SofaScore rating, Arda Turan’s is still the best rated player of the last matchday of Champions League.

Along with Turan, Javier Mascherano also made it into SofaScore Team of the week. Argentinian defender did a very good job and led Barca’s defensive line which we rewarded with 7.9 rating.

Porto strolled into the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League with a handsome 5-0 win against Leicester City. André Silva had failed to score in his previous five games for Porto in all competitions and the 21-year-old was low on confidence having missed two penalty kicks during that run, one in a shoot-out loss. He scored early against Leicester and after adding a second from the spot, he then provided the assist for Diogo Jota. It was a memorable night for Porto striker, who deserved 9.1 for his great performance against defending Premier League champions.

Dele Alli and Harry Kane struck before Igor Akinfeev turned into his own net as Tottenham came from behind to beat CSKA Moskva and secured third place in Group E and a place in the UEFA Europa League. However, it was Christian Eriksen who dominated the proceedings in this game. He controlled Spurs’ midfield and recorded some impressive stats: one assist, eight key passes, three shots and nine completed crosses. Stunning perfromance that deserved him 8.8 SofaScore rating.

Meanwhile, one other Spurs player made it into Team of the week. Harry Kane continued his excellent recent run of form and received 8.6 SofaScore rating. He scored in this match as well to make ti six goals in the last five games.

PSV are left bottom of Group D as Rostov withstood their late surge to earn a goalless draw in Eindhoven which takes them into the UEFA Europa League. However, PSV’s defending duo caught our eye with a couple of very good performances. Daniel Schwaab and Hector Moreno deserved 8.0 and 7.9 SofaScore ratings respectively. They managed to keep the clean sheet in this match, but unfortunately for them, their team couldn’t score despite 17 shots on goal.

Lucas Pérez (8.2) scored a hat-trick that gave Arsenal a 4-1 victory at Basel and their first UEFA Champions League group-stage pole position, while Andrey Yarmolenko (8.7) inspired Dynamo Kyiv to 6-0 win against Besiktas with a goal and two assists.

Super sub Dries Mertens (8.4) came off the bench to create one goal for José Callejón before himself sealing a 2-1 win for Napoli against Benfica, which takes the Italian side through as Group B winners. Sergio Rico (7.8) collected five saves as Sevilla’s goalless draw at Lyon took the winners of the last three UEFA Europa Leagues into the round of 16.
