Lionel Messi was delighted to win FIFA’s The Best men’s player award for 2019 with his wife and children Mateo and Thiago in attendance.

Held in Milan, Messi brought his family along, though the youngest child, Ciro was absent.
The Argentine explained his kids’ love for football, and admitted that they were nervously monitoring the world’s best players as they found themselves in their company.
“Having them here to enjoy this is priceless as they love football and they’re watching everyone around them shyly,” he said.
“For me, individual awards are secondary and the collective comes first.
“But today is a special day for me.
“I have my wife and children here, and it’s the first time they’ve come.”
