A 17-year-old boy and his 16-year-old girlfriend have gotten married in Nnewi, Anambra state.
According to reports, the boy dropped out of school and insisted he wanted to get married to his girlfriend. The boy identified simply as Somto, from the Nwachukwu family in Okofia village, Otolo Nnewi, Anambra state, got the support from his family who agreed to the early marriage and carry on with the traditional wedding.
Initially, there were speculations that the boy is the only child in his family and this might be why accepted he goes into an early marriage but reports claim that he has an older brother who is a graduate and works in a hospital in Anambra state.
The traditional wedding between the teenagers held last weekend in Anambra state, according to Anaedoonline.
The boy’s family however opened a retail shop for the couple to manage after their traditional marriage.
