Wale Ojo, the British-Nigerian actor, has taken up his second directorial project titled ‘This Is Not A Nollywood Movie.
The actor took to his Instagram page to announce the new movie. The 55-year-old film star also told viewers a bit of what to expect from the project.
Don’t be fooled by the title, it’s tongue-in-cheek, it’s all about laughs cos I believe laughter is an orgasm of the heart and that is the purpose and the aim of this film, he said.
He accompanied the video with a caption, describing the movie as a satirical film that promises joy and laughter.
Presenting my second directorial feature, This Is Not A Nollywood Movie. This satirical film is an explosive comedy that promises its way to your hearts through joy and laughter, he wrote.
The movie boasts a star-studded cast such as Broda Shaggi, Hanks Anuku, and Ghana’s Shatta Bandle.
At age 8, Ojo was already acting alongside established actors. He later moved to England with his family.
Ojo’s breakthrough role came in 1995 with the movie ‘The Hard Case.
Since then, he has starred in numerous Nollywood and British productions including ‘Phone Swap, Half of a Yellow Sun, and Apple TV’s Foundation.
Ojo received his first award as an actor at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards in 2012.
The Breath of Life’ star won the ‘Best Actor’ award at the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA).
