The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 29-year-old man in connection with the robbery of a clubber outside the Ghost and Spirit Lounge on Ekoro Road, Abule-Egba.
According to the command, efforts are underway to track down other members of the gang suspected to be involved in the incident.
PUNCH Metro learned that the robbery took place at around 5 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Viral CCTV footage circulating on social media captures several men gathered near parked cars when a man in a yellow polo shirt approached one of them. Moments later, a grey Mercedes-Benz GLK SUV stopped across the road, and an occupant reportedly exited the vehicle and fired what appeared to be gunshots.
Tijani, speaking at a press briefing at the command headquarters in Ikeja, announced that officers had apprehended a suspect at the Lagos-Ogun boundary.
He stated, “At approximately 5:00 a.m. on September 26, 2026, we received information that a group of armed men, reportedly carrying an AK-47 rifle, entered Ghost and Spirit Lounge on Ekoro Road, Abule-Egba, in a grey Mercedes-Benz GLK SUV and robbed a male victim of his gold wrist chain and rings.
“Following a thorough investigation, officers arrested Ezekiel Sunday Obi, a 29-year-old male, at around 1:00 a.m. on September 27, 2026, at the Toll Gate on the Lagos-Ogun boundary.”
The Commissioner of Police further noted that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover the stolen items. “We are intensifying our search for the other gang members and working to recover the exhibits,” he added.
