Portable Celebrates Social Media Success Days After ₦2 Million Bail Release

Controversial Nigerian artiste, Portable, is back in the spotlight, but this time for a different reason. Just days after securing his release on a ₦2 million bail following an altercation with Ogun State government officials, the singer is shifting focus to his growing social media traction.

Taking to Instagram on February 25, 2025, Portable proudly announced his latest milestone.

“Akoi 50 million views. Them no dey celebrate failure. ZEHNATION! Dm for show bookings, ambassadorship ☎️,” he wrote.

This marks a change in tone for the Zazu Zeh crooner, who, on February 21, vowed to avoid trouble and concentrate on making money.

“Alhamdulilah for everything. No more wahala, na money I dey look for. If you no get money, call God,” he stated.

The Legal Drama That Led to His Arrest

Portable’s recent legal troubles stem from a February 18, 2025, altercation with Ogun State’s Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The singer and nine of his associates allegedly obstructed and assaulted government officials carrying out their duties.

Following the incident, the Ogun State Police declared him wanted, releasing an official notice and an arrest warrant issued by a magistrate’s court. While his associates were quickly arrested and granted bail at ₦5 million each, Portable initially evaded capture, staying in hiding for a week.

Despite being on the run, he remained active on social media, calling for support from fans. As pressure mounted, many of his supporters urged him to surrender, which he eventually did on February 19.

Court Arraignment and Bail Conditions

On February 20, Portable appeared before the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, where he pleaded not guilty. The court granted him bail at ₦2 million, allowing him temporary freedom while the legal proceedings continue.

Now out of detention, the self-proclaimed Street Problem seems determined to rebrand his narrative, focusing on his career and capitalizing on his digital presence. Whether he can stay out of further controversies remains to be seen.
