Despite Rangers’ 2-1 defeat to Motherwell, Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun remains optimistic about their Europa League showdown against Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce on Thursday.
The Light Blues have suffered three consecutive home losses for the first time since 2012, trailing Celtic by 16 points in the Scottish Premiership. However, Balogun believes the team can rediscover their form in Turkey.
💬 On facing Mourinho:
“I think I played against him only once, on my Premier League debut. We beat his Manchester United 3-2 with Brighton. That’s a fond memory.”
🔥 On the Europa League challenge:
“It’s a big opportunity for us. Maybe playing the first leg away helps after what happened domestically. We need to take at least two massive steps forward to get a result.”
Can Rangers turn their domestic struggles into a European statement against Mourinho’s Fenerbahce?
