Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has formally petitioned the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, over what she describes as professional misconduct by officers of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCC) and controversial internet personality, VeryDarkMan.
According to the petition, which was submitted on July 29, 2025, through her legal counsel, The Maverick Forte Legal, Ojo alleges that a major breach of protocol occurred during her recent interrogation at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The actress claimed that VeryDarkMan, a civilian and defendant in a separate case where she is a witness, was unlawfully allowed access to her private interrogation session. She accused the Commissioner of Police, CP Ifeanyi Henry Uche, of facilitating the breach due to what she termed an “improper relationship” between the officer and VeryDarkMan.
The petition further stated that sensitive details from the session were subsequently leaked online by VeryDarkMan, compromising the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
In response, Ojo has demanded that the case be transferred to Lagos for a more impartial probe. She also declared she would no longer attend any sessions in Abuja, citing a lack of trust in the current process.
