Afrobeats superstar, Innocent Ujah Idibia, better known as 2Baba, has released an official statement as he clocks 50 years on earth and celebrates 25 remarkable years in music.
The music icon, in his message, thanked God for the grace of life and survival in an industry where “many who started this path with me are no longer here.” He dedicated the milestone to his family, colleagues, fans, and industry stakeholders, saying the journey belongs to everyone who stood by him.
2Baba also dropped a big announcement: his birthday and career celebration will not hold immediately as planned. Instead, he intends to merge the golden jubilee with his 25 years on stage into one mega concert.
This year’s celebration has been postponed, not cancelled. I want to do it differently, one unforgettable experience where we share stories, give thanks and celebrate the power of music, life and love. Until then, keep the fire burning. The best is yet to come,” he declared.
Tributes have since poured in for the Afrobeats trailblazer whose legacy continues to inspire a new generation of African stars.
