Awosika Olayemi Josiah, better known as Fido, has revealed that he once made nearly N1 billion from his music in just one month.
The Nigerian singer, famous for his hit song ‘Joy Is Coming’, shared this surprising detail about his earnings during a live session with popular content creator Shank.
When asked about the highest amount he has ever earned in a single month, Fido responded without hesitation.
Almost a billion naira, he said in pidgin English. Between spending and income, almost a billion naira.
Fido rose to prominence with his breakout single, Awolowo, launching his career with Inner Circle Entertainment.
In 2025, his record label, Oosha Records, entered a partnership with the international music company EMPIRE, marking a significant step forward in his musical journey.
In March of the previous year, Fido faced criticism after publicly accusing his former marketing partner, Inner Circle Entertainment, of mismanaging finances.
By August 2025, he further alleged that the label withheld 95% of a $20,000 advance for Awolowo, stating he received only about N1.5 million.
However, in February, Fido issued an apology and confessed that his rapid ascent to fame had been overwhelming. He admitted he was still learning to navigate the challenges of stardom and acknowledged that some of his past statements and actions were driven by ego, excitement, and inexperience. He emphasized that these moments did not represent the person he strives to become.
