Nollywood actress Funke Akindele recently reflected on the remarkable success of her film, Behind The Scenes, which earned an impressive ₦2.7 billion at the Nigerian box office.
In an interview with BellaNaija, Akindele shared that the achievement was possible only because she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to the project. She spoke openly about the personal sacrifices she made during production, including stepping back from social activities and paying little attention to her appearance.
I put work above everything else; I hardly made time to do my hair except for special occasions like red carpet events. I stopped attending parties and visiting friends and family. I gave up almost everything to focus on this film.
I was completely immersed in the work, sacrificing my time and energy, she revealed. Now, I’m able to relax, take care of my skin, and enjoy some rest. But it took a lot of sleepless nights, missed meals, and total commitment to get here.
