The elder sister of Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has called for his release after he was remanded in prison.
DJ Chicken, a Nigerian content creator, was arraigned before a magistrate’s court in Lagos on July 10 and sent to Kirikiri Correctional Centre. He faces charges of allegedly threatening the life of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, following a video he posted on social media last week in which he stated that Tinubu would not win re-election in 2027.
In the now-deleted video, DJ Chicken reportedly said in Yorùbá, Tinubu, you cannot win. If you enter, I will kill Seyi Tinubu. I will not say more than that.”
In a separate viral video, DJ Chicken’s sister made an emotional appeal to fellow influencer Tunde Perry and to Nigerians at large, asking them to help intervene on her brother’s behalf and plead with Seyi Tinubu to facilitate his release.
She emphasized that she and her brother are orphans with no other family to turn to, pleading for forgiveness and support:
“Please, Tunde Perry, I’ve heard a lot about you. Please help me support him. To all his fans, please help me support him. Don’t let him go to jail.
I’m his elder sister. We’re orphans, and we have no one. Please forgive him. I beg on his behalf.”
