Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, widely known as Mr P, has accused his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, of filing a new lawsuit to prevent him from performing songs released under the Psquare brand.
In a recent video, Mr P addressed Jude’s statements regarding their ongoing dispute over the ownership of Psquare. He revealed that he was recently served with legal documents aiming to bar him from performing any Psquare songs.
“Jude served me a letter. We just had the hearing. The first thing they wanted to do was stop me from performing Psquare songs.
In Jude’s claim, he said he brought Psquare to Lagos in 2005, which supposedly makes him the owner. But Psquare’s first album was released in 2003. We had already been performing for four to five years before that and had even signed our first management contract. Where was he then? Peter said.
Peter further challenged Jude’s assertions about moving and establishing the group in Lagos, insisting that the claims were untrue and that he has proof to support his stance. You said you brought us to Lagos.
Jude, we brought you to Lagos. I sold my car and paid for our first house. I still have the receipts. You and Paul left when there was nothing. I stayed back. Now, suddenly, you claim ownership of Psquare, he added.
