The family of the late Nollywood actress Tope Osoba has announced the indefinite postponement of her burial, following days of public speculation about the circumstances of her passing.
In a statement released on the actress’s official Instagram page on Wednesday, the family cited the need for additional arrangements and the resolution of outstanding matters.
The decision comes after a candlelight procession and an artists’ night were held in her honour.
With deep sadness, the family of Tope Osoba wishes to inform friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers that her burial ceremony has been postponed until further notice, the statement read.
The family appealed for understanding, patience, and continued prayers and support during what they described as a difficult and sensitive time.
They assured the public that details regarding the new burial date and venue would be communicated through their official channels once all necessary matters have been addressed.
Gratitude was also expressed to everyone who attended the memorial events and to those who have continued to support the family since Osoba’s passing.
Tope Osoba, aged 40, died on August 5. The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear and have sparked controversy, with conflicting reports about her final moments and allegations involving her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko.
The Celestial Church of Christ announced on Tuesday that it is conducting a discreet investigation into the matter.
