Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Grammy-nominated artist tagged Trump, highlighting what he described as an increasingly tense and volatile atmosphere ahead of the August 15 vote.
Davido warned that, if unchecked, the situation in Osun could escalate into violence, intimidation, or disruption of the democratic process. He called on the United States and international observers to maintain vigilance and to urge Nigerian authorities to protect voters and guarantee a credible electoral exercise.
President Donald Trump, I am calling your attention to the situation in Osun State, Nigeria, as we approach the election. There are growing concerns about tension and the possibility of violence, intimidation, or disruption of the democratic process. Osun people deserve to exercise their constitutional right to vote freely, peacefully, and without fear, he wrote.

Davido has publicly endorsed his uncle, incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, who is seeking re-election. The singer has been an active figure in Adeleke’s campaign and, in June, pledged to oppose any attempts to tamper with the election outcome.
More recently, Davido called on Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who chairs the All Progressives Congress (APC) national campaign council for the Osun election, to “refrain from interfering” in the polls, citing rumors of alleged plans to disrupt the process.
