Afrobeats sensation Afolarin Odunlami, better known as Fola, has delighted his mother with a new car, fulfilling two of her most cherished wishes.
Sharing the heartwarming news on Instagram, Fola recounted how, as his music career began to take off, he asked his mother what she desired most. Her response was clear: her own church building and a specific car.
Fola had previously honored one of those wishes by using his first significant earnings to purchase land in Ibadan, where his mother went on to build her church—a promise he made to her at the start of his journey. Now, with the gift of the car, both of her dreams have been realized.
“When things started to align, I randomly asked my mother what she wanted and she said she wanted her own church building and this specific car. I thank God for keeping this running long enough for me to say I’ve done both things,” Fola wrote.
Before his breakthrough, Fola worked as a Bet cashier in Ibadan. Throughout those years, his mother never wavered in her belief in his potential, always encouraging him to pursue his passion for music.
