Peter Adeleke, a renowned leadership educator, author, and Guinness World Records title holder, has been shortlisted for the 2026 Young Canadian Change-Makers Award.
This award celebrates young leaders who have made significant contributions to their communities across Canada. Adeleke is recognized as a nominee in the Leadership Coach category.
The Young Canadian Change-Makers Awards, launched by The Voices, Young Canadian Change-Makers Association, aim to connect and highlight young individuals driving social impact and community initiatives nationwide.
According to the organizers, the awards honor innovators whose efforts create positive social change in fields such as education, health, arts, technology, the environment, and more.
Nominees are evaluated on four key criteria: innovation, impact, leadership, and growth potential. This includes creative approaches to community challenges, measurable outcomes, the ability to inspire and guide others, and the potential for ongoing or expanded impact. Nominations for the 2026 awards were accepted from May 1 to June 30, after which the shortlist was announced, recognizing outstanding individuals from diverse areas of community engagement.
Adeleke has distinguished himself as the first Black man to deliver a continuous, non-stop leadership lecture in Canada, breaking barriers and inspiring a new generation of Black leaders. His work spans leadership education, professional training, writing, and community-based programs in both Nigeria and Canada. Adeleke has organized and led workshops and educational programs for youth and professionals alike.
In August 2025, Adeleke set a new Guinness World Record by delivering a 28-hour, 45-minute continuous leadership lesson in Calgary, centered on the theme “The Future of Leadership.” This marathon session, held on August 29 and 30, reinforced his commitment to advancing leadership education.
Beyond his record-breaking achievement, Adeleke is the author of books on leadership and personal development and continues to contribute to educational and community initiatives in both Nigeria and Canada. His nomination for the Young Canadian Change-Makers Award highlights his sustained impact and dedication to empowering others through leadership.
The inaugural Young Canadian Change-Makers Awards will gather nominees and participants from fields such as community development, entrepreneurship, education, and social innovation. Final award recipients will be announced at the Tribe Symposium in Toronto on September 26, 2026. Being shortlisted is a significant recognition, but the final honorees will be named at the event.
