Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has opened up about the importance of genotype compatibility in his marriage to fellow artist Simi.
Speaking on a recent episode of the One54 Podcast, Adekunle revealed that he would not have married Simi if her genotype was SS or AS, given his own SS genotype.
He explained, “I wouldn’t have married my wife if she were SS or AS. Forget love. I don’t think it makes sense to bring a child into this world and have them be sickly. When my wife and I first met, the first thing I did was to find out her genotype. She is AA. That was why I proceeded with the relationship.”
The couple, who married in 2019, have since welcomed two children. Adekunle emphasized the significance of making informed decisions to ensure a healthy future for their family.
