The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal results. The official announcement was made on Thursday by NECO Registrar and Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi, at the Council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
A total of 1,378,048 candidates registered for the examination, with 1,371,992 candidates eventually sitting for it. According to NECO, 804,948 candidates—representing 58.67%—secured at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics. Additionally, 1,162,118 candidates, or 84.70%, earned five credits or more, regardless of English Language and Mathematics.
The examination took place from June 15 to July 23, 2026, followed by a nationwide marking exercise held from August 17 to September 4. Candidates can check their results online via the official NECO results portal.

- Access the Official Portal
- Open your preferred web browser and visit the NECO Results Portal.
- Select Examination Year
- Choose “2026” as your exam year.
- Select Examination Type
- If you wrote the school-based June/July exam, select “SSCE INTERNAL (JUN/JUL).”
- If you wrote the private exam, select the appropriate “SSCE EXTERNAL” option.
- Enter Your Token
- Input the result-checking token you purchased. Double-check the token for accuracy.
- Enter Your Registration Number
- Type your NECO exam registration number carefully in the space provided.
- Check Your Result
- Click “Check my result.” If your information is correct and your result is available, it will be displayed on the screen. You can save or print your result for future reference.

- You can purchase a token directly on the NECO portal. Click “Purchase token” and follow the instructions.
