MFM FC failed in their bid to usurp Enugu Rangers at the top of Nigeria Professional Football League as they were held 1-1 at the Agege Stadium. They looked on course when Ifeanyi Mathew’s fourth minute free kick hit the side of the net.
Despite their dominance, they fell behind in the 35th minute when Obinna Nwodo breached their backline to put the Flying Antelopes ahead.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men responded strongly and almost had a spectacular leveller when Musa Newman went close in the closing stages of the game with a stunning kick from over 20 yards out.
Enugu Rangers seemingly being in control of the game though, failed to build on their lead and allowed their hosts back into the game through Stephen Odey.
The hosts went in search of another goal but couldn’t find a way past goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel, as the Flying Antelopes snatched a point from Agege.
