Eurosport claim Torres on verge of Atlético return

Prodigal son Fernando Torres is edging closer to a move back to the Vicente Calderón. According to Eurosport, an official acting on behalf of Atlético president Miguel Ángel Gil Marín travelled to London to broker a deal for the striker. Chelsea are asking for 16.4 million for the 30-year-old, but the ‘Rojiblancos’ are hopeful they can drive this price down.
Contrary to reports, Brazilian defender João Miranda will not be included in any swoop for Torres, despite the Blues having made several attempts to sign the centre-back. Atlético are sticking to their guns and will not let Miranda leave for London for a penny less than his 30 million release clause.
