Aguero elbow could scupper Manchester derby plans

Manchester City are fearful of facing their biggest game of the season so far without star striker Sergio Aguero, after replays showed the forward elbowing West Ham United’s Winston Reid.

Missed by referee Andre Marriner in the Citizens’ 3-1 win on Sunday, the FA are expected to look into the

matter, and if found guilty of violent misconduct, Aguero can expect to receive a three-game ban, effective immediately.That would see the Argentine suspended for the short trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on September 10, as well as Premier League matches against Bournemouth and Swansea City.
