Liverpool’s teenage youngster, Trent Alexander-Arnold is a surprise inclusion in England’s World Cup squad alongside Chelsea’s Crystal Palace loanee, Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Arnold, whose stellar performances with the Reds this season has made him a fans’ favourite has just made three appearances for England’s Under-21 before his surprise senior call up for the grandest stage in world football.
Loftus-Cheek, so talented but always overlooked during his time at Chelsea has had a scintillating season with Crystal Palace. His loan move to Selhurst Park had done great good to his career as he is presented with a chance to prove his high ratings right.
Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere, Liverpool’s Adam Lallana and West Ham’s Joe Hart were all dropped from the team to Russia. Also, Burnley’s Nick Pope made the cut despite being a replacement for Tom Heaton at the beginning of the season.
