Gabriel was forced off early in the Gunners’ 3-1 win over Fulham on Wednesday, and after further assessment, the club has confirmed that he requires surgical repair. The setback comes at a critical time for Mikel Arteta’s side, who are chasing the Premier League title and preparing for a crucial Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

“Following our match against Fulham, we can confirm that Gabriel Magalhaes has sustained a hamstring injury requiring surgery. Gabi will undergo a surgical procedure in the coming days and immediately begin his recovery and rehabilitation program, with the aim to be ready for the start of next season. Gabriel has been a vital figure in Arsenal’s defense this season, forming a formidable partnership with William Saliba.
