Ben Affleck to return as Batman in ‘Aquaman’ sequel

Holy flying fishes Batman! Ben Affleck has officially been confirmed to return as Batman in Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.

Jason Momoa will reprise his role as Arthur Curry, the seafaring superhero known as Aquaman, in the upcoming sequel. However, it appears that he was compelled to reveal that he wouldn’t be the only Justice League member making a comeback in the film.

“REUNITED,” he said via Instagram. “bruce and arthur. love u and miss u Ben WB studio tours just explored the backlot alright. busted on set all great things coming AQUAMAN 2 all my aloha j”

This news come as a surprise, as Affleck had said to have finished playing Batman and put away his cape for good.

It was known that he would be in the upcoming Flash movie, whose release date has since been moved from November 2022 to June 23, 2023. However, this was supposed to be his last appearance as the Caped Crusader on screen.

Instead, it appears that he was persuaded to come back by someone, somewhere. And it couldn’t have been a simple conversation after his experience on Justice League.

“I had a really nadir experience around Justice League for a lot of different reasons,” said Affleck. “Not blaming anybody, there’s a lot of things that happened. But really what it was is that I wasn’t happy. I didn’t like being there. I didn’t think it was interesting. And then some really s—ty things, awful things happened. But, that’s when I was like, I’m not going to do that anymore.”

Is it just a cameo or will he have a big role?

It’s still uncertain as to what capacity we will be seeing Affleck’s Batman on screen, but we sure are glad to see him as the Dark Knight one more time before he says goodbye to the character for good… or will he?

Jason Momoa stars as Aquaman alongside Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, and Nicole Kidman in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

The movie was directed by James Wan from a screenplay by Jason Momoa and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.
