Burna Boy’s reaction to club shooting condemnable, says DJ Switch

Dj Switch, the disc jockey and activist, has slammed Burna Boy over the shooting that occurred at the Club Cubana in Lagos on June 8.

The Grammy-winning Afrobeats megastar has been in the news since the reports of the alleged shooting of two fun-seekers by his police escort at the club situated in Victoria Island surfaced online.

One of Burna Boy’s police escorts was said to have opened fire on Irebami Lawrence and Tolu, his friend.

The shooting was said to have occurred after the singer allegedly made a pass at a lady said to be Lawrence’s wife.

Neme Brielle, the UK-based Nigerian lady said to have been approached by Burna Boy, recently detailed her side of the story.

She claimed she was physically attacked by the singer’s friend. She also alleged that all through the incident, Burna Boy “laughed and proceeded to his car”.

Reacting to the incident via Twitter, DJ Switch described Burna Boy’s reaction to the incident as “sad and condemnable”.

She also called on the police force to investigate the club shotting “thoroughly”

“Burnaboy, our youths have very little to look up to & emulate. As an African giant, you wield power, influence & so ur attitude towards the incident is sad & condemnable,” she wrote.

“We must act better to deserve better. The police should investigate thoroughly (if they are capable) @burnaboy.”

Usman Alkali Baba, the inspector-general of police (IGP), had also condemned the incident and ordered a probe into the shooting.

The police further revealed that the force would interrogate the ‘African Giant’ crooner.

Obi Cubana recently revealed that his company has “given all information at its disposal to the legal authorities.”
