Chelsea had a busy summer, and that continued until the final seconds of transfer deadline day as they confirmed the signings of both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria on the final day of the transfer window.
Aubameyang was brought in from Barcelona after extended negotiations between the to parties, eventually seeing an agreement of a 12 million euro transfer fee agreed.
With the move, the forward has ended a short stay in Catalonia after having joined from Arsenal in January. He played 23 times for the Blaugrana, 18 starts, and scored an impressive 13 goals.
Having signed the ex-Arsenal man on a free transfer in the winter, Barcelona can consider their business of shifting him for a fee a success.
Zakaria joins Chelsea from Juventus
Denis Zakaria was the other deadline day signing made by Chelsea.
Similarly to Aubameyang, Zakaria had only moved clubs in January as he joined Juventus in the winter transfer window.
In all, Chelsea spent 279 million euros this summer, bringing in some big names such as Kalidou Koulibaly, Raheem Sterling, and Marc Cucurella.
No Premier League club spent more than the Blues.
