French forward Ousmane Dembélé has hailed Lionel Messi as the greatest player he has ever witnessed, lauding the Argentine icon’s exceptional quality and longevity.
In an interview with Marca on Friday, Dembélé emphasized Messi’s continued ability to influence games at the highest level, noting that advancing age has done little to diminish his impact.
Lionel Messi is the best player I’ve ever seen, Dembélé stated. He’s 38, but he’s still fantastic and dangerous. His quality never gets old.
Dembélé, who played alongside Messi at both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, cautioned rivals not to underestimate the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner. “We all have to be very careful. Leo can still win the World Cup,” he added.
Messi, who captained Argentina to World Cup victory in Qatar in 2022, continues to excel for both club and country.
