Donnarumma unhappy with back-up role at PSG

Gianluigi Donnarumma is reportedly unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain because of his back-up role so far this season, following his move to the Parc des Princes as a free agent in the summer.

Out of a total of nine games disputed so far by PSG, the Italy international has been between the sticks on just two occasions, against Clermont Foot and Lyon in Ligue 1.

According to Il Corriere della Sera, his agent Mino Raiola is already contemplating several scenarios with regard to his client’s future in the event Donnarumma is not considered as a starter by the end of the season, with a move to Juventus next summer not being ruled out.

“The decision, when choosing, depends on the characteristics,” PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino said recently.

“The two goalkeepers are performing exceptionally well, even in daily training. It is a very difficult choice, but it is good to hear that both Navas and Donnarumma are attentive and can be starters.”

Meanwhile, Il Corriere have revealed that the Costa Rican shot-stopper has the support of PSG‘s South American clique, one which is formed by Angel Di MariaLeandro ParedesMarquinhosNeymar and Lionel Messi.

Donnarumma was aware that there would be competition for the No.1 shirt, but he didn’t expect the current situation, especially after being as the Player of the Tournament at Euro 2020.

The Italian is expected to feature in Saturday’s Ligue 1 game against Montpellier, as Keylor didn’t participate in Friday’s training.
