Dortmund expect Haaland’s future to be decided in the coming weeks

Borussia Dortmund’s managing director, Hans-Joachim Watzke, has revealed that there will be news about Erling Haaland’s future in the next four to six weeks.

Watzke is confident that the club will be able to find a striker to replace the Norway international, should he decide to part ways with Dortmund next summer.

“Naturally, we would like him to stay with us, but the decision is Erling’s,” Watzke told Kicker.

“Things will be resolved probably in four or six weeks. If he stays with us, it would be wonderful. Otherwise, we will look for solutions.

We have already lost scorers in the past, like Robert Lewandowski or [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang. We have found solutions and we would find them again.”

Haaland’s release clause
Haaland’s contract includes a release clause that could be triggered by any other club in summer and is estimated to be 75 million euros. Meanwhile, several of Europe’s big clubs have already set their sights on the 21-year-old striker.
