Her kidnappers had previously demanded a ₦20 million ransom and released multiple threatening videos, including one in which Aisha, visibly distressed, pleaded for help from Nigerians. Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu had shared these videos, raising public concern about her safety.

In a recent development, Harrison Gwamnishu announced that Aisha has been released, posting a video of himself with Aisha and her mother as they celebrated her safe return. However, it remains unclear whether a ransom was paid or the specific circumstances surrounding her release.

Aisha’s return has brought immense relief to her family and has been widely celebrated on social media. Many Nigerians have expressed gratitude for her safety and are urging authorities to intensify efforts to tackle the rising cases of kidnappings and insecurity in Edo State and across the country.
