Europa League: Bournemouth Thrash 10-Man AC Milan, Juventus Stunned by Last-Gasp Equalizer

Bournemouth delivered a stunning performance on Thursday, sweeping aside 10-man AC Milan 3-0 at home to secure their third successive Europa League victory.

Early drama saw Milan goalkeeper and captain Mike Maignan sent off for fouling Tyler Adams, leaving the Italian giants on the back foot.

Bournemouth capitalized with first-half penalties from Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier, establishing a commanding lead. Amine Adli’s exquisite free-kick in the 84th minute capped the win, as the Premier League club continued their impressive debut in the competition—after previous wins against Real Sociedad and Sturm Graz.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace drew 2-2 with Besiktas in Istanbul, while Celtic endured a third straight loss, falling 2-1 to Celta Vigo. Bayer Leverkusen also maintained a perfect record, with a Jonas Hofmann brace earning them a 2-0 victory at OFI Crete.

Meanwhile, Ferencvaros kept pace at the top of their group with a 4-1 triumph over Torreense, and Union Saint-Gilloise cruised to a 4-0 win against Hapoel Be’er Sheva. Saint-Gilloise, Sunderland, and Juventus now each sit on seven points from three matches.

Juventus were denied a late winner against Rennes by a marginal offside ruling, despite goals from Zeki Celik and Nick Woltemade’s penalty.

Sunderland, wearing a new all-pink kit, were left frustrated after a 1-1 draw in Poznan, having taken an early lead through Timur Tutierov but unable to secure the win—though their hopes of advancing remain strong with two home games left. In other matches, Marseille fell 1-0 to Sturm Graz and Lyon suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Hoffenheim.

In the Conference League, Mohamed Salah opened the scoring with a penalty as Trabzonspor beat Hearts 2-0. Brighton played out a goalless draw at Jablonec, Monaco dispatched Freiburg 3-0, and Ajax edged Atalanta 2-0.
