Filmmaker Errol Webber narrates how tracking device exposed airline staff who ‘stole’ from him

Errol Webber, the US-based filmmaker, has called out the management of United Airlines, alleging a staff of the company stole some items in his luggage.

In a Twitter thread on Wednesday, the movie producer said he had used the airline on his way from Alaska to California on October 29 after a video shoot.

Webber claimed at the Anchorage Airport in Alaska, a staff of the airline ransacked his luggage and made away with some of his film equipment.

In the thread, the filmmaker said he discovered the location of the staff using Airtag.

AirTag is a tracking device developed by Apple which helps people find lost personal objects such as keys, bags, apparel, small electronic devices and vehicles.

The filmmaker said the device was among the items taken from his luggage which enabled him to track the location.

“Hey @united, one of your employees at Anchorage Airport rummaged through my luggage and took some film equipment home with them,” he wrote.

“They inadvertently took my Apple AirTag that I had hidden. Can you tell your employee who lives at: 210 Clover Hollow Court to give me my stuff back?”

Reacting to the tweet, the airline asked the filmmaker to reach out to them privately while promising to investigate the matter.

“Hi, Errol. We’d like to look into this, When you have a moment, please send us a DM with your file reference number,” it wrote.
