Fireboy talks about being a millionaire, relationship with Olamide

Fireboy, the Nigerian singer, has opened up about his relationship with Olamide, his label boss.

In an interview with Beat FM, Fireboy appreciated the YBNL head honcho for being a guiding force in his career. He also described him as a “blessing.

Having Olamide in my life is a blessing. When I am overthinking stuff, he is always there.  But, you know, there will not always be an Olamide.  This is an individual with a family, too, so sometimes he will not always be there, he said.

He would always offer his guidance and suggestions but it is really up to the artiste to decide what they want to do. He is a very liberal person.

The singer added that he now recognises the need to make independent decisions as he navigates his artistic journey.

Now more than ever I have gotten to a place where I need to make spontaneous decisions on my own, he said.

The singer also talked about his success story and becoming a millionaire at 27.

Sometimes you may think you are one person then N50 million will enter your account and you will realise you are a different person,” he said.

“There were a lot of things I said I would never do or be until I became a millionaire.”

Fireboy is signed to YBNL Nation, Olamide’s record label.

He collaborated with Olamide on the track ‘Afar’ in his second studio album ‘Apollo’.

Since rising to prominence, Fireboy has established himself as a popular figure in the music industry.

He has also garnered numerous awards and recognitions for his craft.

In 2021, he won the African Fan’s Favourite category at the All Africa Music Awards.

He also won Best Afrobeat Single for his hit track ‘Peru’ at the 2022 Headies.
