Funmaster Flex Accuses Cardi B Of Paying Djs To Play Her Music

Funkmaster Flex has set his sights on Cardi B once again.

In April, the Hot 97 DJ accused the “Bodak Yellow” rapper of not writing her own rhymes. Then in July, Flex called out Cardi for declaring herself the “King of New York” on Lil Yachty’s single “Who Want the Smoke?”

“A below average rapper that doesn’t write could never be King or Queen of NY!” he tweeted.

Now Flex has taken aim at Cardi once again by accusing her of paying radio to play her records. The comment was posted in response to a video of the new mom talking about the love she’s received since “Bodak Yellow” blew up.

“I think Cardi is a great entertainer and has great songs! I gave my opinion when she said she was ‘King of NY’ and when I found out she didn’t write her own songs!” he said. “I met Cardi and her management and I respected his and Cardi’s hustle! BUT LETS BE CLEAR.. CARDI’S TEAM AND MANY OTHER ARTIST (in the beginning of career) PAY DJS TO PLAY RECORDS AND SAY THAT ‘THEY ARE HOT’ (Since I never took a penny from a rapper I’m not scared to speak on it) I have emails I’ve gotten from labels over the years with names and figures!”

Cardi, who will open the 2018 VMAs on Aug. 20, did not directly respond to Flex, but she did address her critics. “Don’t kill them with kindness, kill them with blindness!” she wrote in an Instagram post.
