Former Premier League star William Gallas has weighed in on the Victor Osimhen transfer saga, stating that Manchester United would be a better destination for the Nigerian striker than Arsenal, especially if he needs time to adapt to the English game.
Gallas, speaking to Prime Casino, drew a Cristiano Ronaldo comparison, saying players like Ronaldo took a season to fully adapt to the Premier League. He believes United’s current situation allows for more patience, unlike Arsenal, who are chasing immediate success.
“If Arsenal need results straight away… they don’t have time. Manchester United are not under pressure to win the league immediately. They can give Osimhen the time he needs,” Gallas said.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has a €75 million release clause, and reports suggest United have a provisional agreement with his camp. But a major hurdle has emerged his £300,000-per-week wage demand, which United are reportedly unwilling to meet under their new wage structure.
Arsenal and United are both in desperate need of a proven goalscorer, but whether either side is willing to meet Osimhen’s financial demands is another matter. For now, his next move remains wide open.
