The accusation began when Jinad shared a video on Instagram on Wednesday featuring another colleague Itu Iberu.

In the clip, Iberu claimed that despite enduring hard times with Adedimeji in the past, the now-successful actor no longer takes his calls and has blocked his number.

Lateef and I were always together back in the days, we went hungry together. At the time, I worked as a carpenter, so whenever I got a job, we would use the money to eat together, Iberu said.

Now, Lateef is a superstar, and I always pray for him to remain that way. I called his number at some point, and he said he would call me back. Later, when I tried reaching him again, I realised he had blocked me.

In her reaction, Jinad revealed she had a similar experience, alleging that Adedimeji blocked her on all social media platforms for over four years.

She explained that they were once close friends who began their careers together at Orisun’s Miliki Express.

She said their friendship soured, however, when she offered him a role in a movie.

Jinad claimed Adedimeji declined, stating he only featured in good films — a response she found deeply hurtful.

She said the situation escalated when she later discovered he had blocked me on WhatsApp and Instagram.

Jinad stated she only realised she had been unblocked recently, after seeing his post on her Instagram feed in January.

I thought it was just me until I saw this video. Lateef Adedimeji and I were friends at one point because we started together at Orisun, Miliki Express, she said.

There was a time I wanted to shoot a movie and reached out to him because I wanted to cast him, but he declined, saying he only featured in good films. It hurt me so much that I decided to withdraw from him.

A few months later, someone contacted me to help reach out to Lateef, so I went on WhatsApp to message him, but I realised he had blocked me.

I checked Instagram, and it was the same. So when I heard this person talk about it, I realised it wasn’t just me. In January, I was scrolling through Instagram and saw a post from Lateef’s page on my feed, which was when I realised he had unblocked me after over four years.

Thank God he has unblocked me now. It’s a normal thing to outgrow people but you don’t have to block them, you might still need their help someday.
