Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated the Super Eagles for their victory over Bosnia – Herzegovina in the on-going World Cup competition. Receiving the National Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party led by its National Chairman Adamu Muazu at the Presidential Villa on Sunday, President Jonathan said that he was happy the Eagles beat Bosnia 1-0 the same day Ayo Fayose of the PDP won the Ekiti State governorship election.
“The Eagles made all Nigerians to smile. I know the game is not over until we play the last match but I congratulate the country and Nigerians for what the Eagles have done. If we had lost that match, it would have been most devastating for us. Even though we know we still have a top soccer country to meet, I am convinced that we shall triumph. I am convinced that we will go into the next round’’, an enthusiastic President Jonathan concluded.
Also, Senate President, David Mark and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, in a separate statement, praised the Stephen Keshi tutored side for improving on their shambolic performance against Iran.
