The Lagos State Government has announced the closure of Acme Road, Ogba ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) local council primaries scheduled to hold on Saturday at the state party secretariat.
The APC secretariat is located along the popular Acme Road. Many companies and offices are also located along the road. The APC council primaries are expected to attract a huge crowd of party faithful.
Therefore, the state government feels responsible to ensure a smooth event at the APC secretariat even as it anticipates a high traffic around the area.
Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, in a statement, said the road would be made inaccessible from Adeniyi Jones, Lateef Jakande Road, and Acme Crescent being major connecting points.
As part of efforts to ensure seamless vehicular flow and reduce congestion in the area, motorists will not be allowed access to the entire stretch of Acme Road, the statement said.
The state government in its traffic advisory, says motorists coming from Adeniyi Jones should divert through Aromire to access Allen Junction.
It said those approaching from Allen Avenue should use Aromire to connect Ladipo Oluwole from where they can proceed through Guinness to reach their destinations.
Those coming from Akilo Road are advised to link Wemco Road from where they can pass through Lateef Jakande. Alternatively, they can head towards Omole to continue their journeys.
Osiyemi said, We urge members of the public to plan their movements ahead of the day. If you have no urgent business in the area, kindly avoid the route to reduce pressure on adjoining roads.
