Meghan Markle visits memorial in honor of victims of Uvalde shooting

Meghan Markle paid her respects to those killed in the tragic elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, and was met with both criticism and praise for her visit.

The Duchess of Sussex, 40, visited the city’s Uvalde County Courthouse on May 26 to pay her respects to the 19 children and two teachers killed in the school shooting on May 24. Robb Elementary School.

“Today, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, visited Uvalde, Texas,” a Sussex spokesperson told NBC. “She made this trip in her personal capacity as a mother, to offer her condolences and support to a community in unbearable pain.”

Meghan, who lives in California and is the mother of Archie and Lili, kept a low profile during her funeral, accompanied by a bodyguard. Her outfit consisted of a navy blue cap, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and tennis shoes. Her children and husband, Prince Harry, did not attend.

Meghan Markle offered her condolences to the families of the victims

Meghan could be seen walking around the memorial and looking at her crosses, each bearing the name of one of the 21 victims, as she expressed her condolences. On the cross, she placed a bouquet of white roses for Uziyah Garcia.

“He was my entire world. He was everything to me “Garcia told the publication. “Now I’m never going to hug him again, never kiss him again.”

The 21 victims were all in the same fourth-grade classroom when the 18-year-old gunman opened fire in what has become the second deadliest school shooting in history.

Kimberly Mata-Rubio confirmed her daughter, Alexandria Aniyah Rubio, was among those killed in the horrific attack in a Facebook post.
